Is there swimming?

Campers will have time for swimming each day of camp, weather permitting.  The beach is staffed with lifeguards.  If campers are not comfortable in the water there are sand toys on the beach that they can use during this time.

What should I bring to camp?

A complete packing list will be included in your confirmation email but here are a few items to keep in mind.

Swimsuit, towel, closed toe shoes, bug spray, sunscreen, water bottle & dinner packed from home (a snack is included in the cost of camp, but campers need to pack their own dinner meal)

Will my child be placed in a Unit with her whole Troop?

Camp is not a troop event.  We will do our best to place campers with at least one girl from her troop.  We encourage meeting new friends at camp.  Caddies and Unit Leads will help to facilitate this and be sure that all campers feel included!

What do the Volunteers do?

Camp is completely volunteer run and led.  Please see this link for a list of volunteer needs.Sibling care is available for children (boys or girls) age 5 - 11 years old for those that volunteer 2 or more days at camp. (see below for description of sibling care) We will do our best to place volunteers at a site that they will be able to be with their camper.  However, depending on needs this may not be possible.  You will have time to check in with/visit your camper during your breaks.  Volunteer training will be help in July to familiarize you with camp, the theme, activities, etc.

What is Sibling Care?

Sibling Care is available for children (boys and girls) age 5 - 11 years old for those that volunteer for 2 or more days at camp. There is a reduced fee for sibling care. Sibling will be placed in to sibling care units and will participate in the same activities as the Girl Scout Campers.

What is a Caddie?

A Caddie is a girl entering 7th grade or higher. (Girls entering 7th grade may choose to be a camper or a Caddie.)  8th grade and above are Caddies. Caddies are placed in a Unit and will use their leadership skills to assist campers during the day.  This is a great way for girls to be able to share their knowledge and skills with the younger campers and have an opportunity to grow their leadership skills.

Assistant Caddies may also be placed in programming for a portion of camp.  This will allow them to gain skills in this area also.
